Our Iwi
The 11 iwi of Te Arawa represented on Te Kotahitanga o Te Arawa Fisheries Trust Board descend from the following ancestors of the Te Arawa waka: Tamatekapua ( Ngati Pikiao, Ngati Rangitihi, Ngati Rangiteaorere, Ngati Rangiwewehi, Ngati Tahu/Whaoa, Te Ure o Uenukukopako/Ngati Whakaue and Tuhourangi), Ngatoroirangi (Ngati Tarawhai), Tia (Tapuika) and Hei (Waitaha and Ngati Makino).

The coastal boundaries of Te Arawa are said to span from Papamoa to Matata.
