TE ARAWA! $1000 GRANTS AVAILABLE IN 2012 FOR TRAINING TO WORK IN THE SEAFOOD INDUSTRY

Interested in becoming a deckhand, seafood processor, marine tourism operator or fisheries officer?
Enrol in the 26 week Bay of Plenty Polytechnic course to obtain a Certificate in Maritime and Fishing Technology Level 3 from 20 February - 14September 2012 and we will contribute $1,000 towards your costs!
Learn seamanship, sea survival, deck safety, personal health and safety, watch keeping, navigation, seafood processing, fire fighting and first aid.

Background
As part of its strategy to see our Te Arawa people assisted into skilled employment, Te Kotahitanga o Te Arawa Waka Fisheries Trust Board has developed the Te Arawa Fisheries Seafood Training Programme.
The Te Arawa Fisheries Seafood Training Programme will be focused on the seafood industry only with assistance provided to all eligible applicants subject to the completion of training regardless of academic qualification or employment experience.
The aim is for Te Arawa Fisheries to support Te Arawa people to undertake seafood training to gain a qualification in order to assist them into skilled employment in the seafood industry.
