Our Trustees

Ron Roberts (Chair) - Elected to the Board in 2003.
Ron has a background in business consulting and is the current Chairman of Te Whare Hauora o Ngongotaha and Wera Aotearoa Charitable Trust, and has been involved with his marae and hapu trusts since 1982.

Te Ure o Uenukukopako/Ngati Whakaue

Paeraro Awhimate- Elected to the Board October 2010.
Paeraro has a background in the forestry industry. Paeraro is currently the Chairman for Otamarakau Marae Revitalisation Committee.

Ngati Makino

Willie Emery - Elected to the Board in 1993.
Willie has a background in forestry and engineering and is the current Chairman of the Maketu Taiapure and Deputy Chairman of the Te Arawa Lakes Trust. Willie has extensive involvement in water and fisheries groups, including being the Te Arawa Fisheries representative on Mai I Nga Kuri a Wharei ki Tihirau Coastal Iwi Forum. He also holds numerous other trusteeships with his marae and iwi.

Ngati Pikiao

Kiri Potaka-Dewes - Elected to the Board in 1997.
Kiri is the current Chairperson of the Te Rihari Trust and she represents Ngati Rangiteaorere on the Te Arawa Health Board and Te Runanga Nui o Te Arawa. Kiri holds trusteeships on a number of her iwi organisations, including Te Runanga o Rangiteaorere, Matai Kotare Marae Trust and Te Rahui Lands Trust.

Andre Paterson - Elected to the Board April 2010.
Andre lives in the heart of Ngati Rangitihi, Matata. He aims to ensure his iwi is kept well informed on progress on negotiations with the Crown on the new Seabed and Foreshore legislation. andre is also a current trustee
on the Ruawahia 2B Trust, Hauani Maori Lands Trust and Tawhao Maori Lands Trust.

Huru Maika – Elected to the Board in 2009.
Huru Maika has a background in Forestry, Mental Health and Tourism Industries. Huru has also sat as a trustee for the Rahui Whakarewarewa as well as a number of Reserve and Land Trusts.

Tuhourangi

Tangihaere Macfarlane - Elected to the Board in 2004.
Tangihaere has a background in business and is the current Quality & Risk Manager for Te Roopu Waiora. She has extensive experience in health and community organisations and has maintained key iwi/hapu roles over many years.

Ngati Rangiwewehi

 

Rawiri Te Whare - Elected to the Board in 2008.
Rawiri has a background in iwi development and education, and is the current General Manager of Te Pumautanga o Te Arawa. He is the Chairman of Te Runanga o Ngati Tahu-Ngati Whaoa and holds trusteeships on Te Mana Matauranga at Waiariki Institute of Technology and Ngati Tahu Tribal Trust, and is the Village Manager of Kaingaroa Forest Village.

Manu Malcolm - Elected to the Board in 2008.
Manu has a background in education and advocacy and he is a trustee on the Ngati Tarawhai Iwi Trust. He is also member of Te Arawa Fisheries’ Education sub-committee.

Ngati Tarawhai

Teia Williams – Elected to the Board in 1999.
Teia is an owner with his extended whanau in a kiwifruit and avocado orchard. He was a company director with Te Arawa Fisheries Limited 2000-2006, the Chairman of the Te Puke Fishing Club and Te Puke Workingmen’s Club and sits on various boards as a trustee for Tapuika.

Punohu McCausland - Elected to the Board in 2002.
Punohu has a background in education and is the current Chairperson of the Bay of Plenty Maori Health Runanga, the Hei Marae Committee and Te Kapu o Waitaha Trust. Additionally, she is a Board member of the Bay of Plenty District Health Board and sits on a number of its sub-committees.
