Aperahama HurihanganuiTe Arawa, Ngāti Porou Tūhourangi, Ngāti Whakaue Aperahama the Head Boy of Rotorua Boys High School this year. He was a member of the Raukura Kapa Haka team that came 2nd at the national competition. A talented public speaker Aperahama was the winner of the Race Relations Speech Competition and 2nd Place getter at the National Manu Korero Speech Competition. “Ko te kai o te rangatira he korero”

Oriwa Thyne Te Arawa Tūhourangi, Ngāti Wahiao Oriwa’s is a natural hockey talent, she captained the JPC 1st XI Senior Hockey Team last year and is now a member of the Tauranga Girls College 1st XI hockey team. She has played for the midlands U18 and U21 hockey teams and the Maori Women’s U21 Teams for the past Two Years. Oriwa is rapidly being recognised and well known for her skills on the turf.

Camden Te Kani-McQueen Te Arawa, Te Whanau A Apanui,Ngati Porou Tūhourangi, Te Whanau a Tapaeururangi,Te Whanau a Tuwhakairiora, Camden’s introduction to squash was inevitable coming from a well known squash family. Camden is a girl with big dreams and high hopes for her carrier in Squash, she has an impeccable squash record gaining a 3rd place at the NZ Junior open in 2009 and a Runner up in 2010. She has taken out Numerous Regional Competitions and placed 3rd at the NZ Senior Championship.

Ricaia Warren Te Arawa Ricaia is extremely passionate about his sport of Boxing, and holds numerous titles including the CNI Champion, the Waikato Champion and the North Island Golden Glove Champion. Recently he gained the North island Golden Glove Crown and holds the New Zealand cadet title for 12 to 14 year olds under 48kgs. Ricaia is the most experience boxer in his age group in New Zealand and Australia.

Charlizza Harris Te Arawa Tūhourangi Charlizza is Youth Advisor at the Upper Hutt City Council, and was a organiser of the Bouncy Bullys company set up to change attitudes around bullying, and is project manager of a company called Stix ‘n’ Stonz aimed at reducing bullying in schools. Charlizza received a School Academic Tie, she was the only Maori Student of her year to receive this honour. Charlizza was also the leader of the Nga Hoe Akerautangi Kapa Haka Group and has spoken at a number of events including the National ALAC Conference.

Tuhoto-Ariki Pene Te Arawa  Ngāti Rangiwewehi Tuhoto-Ariki is passionate about all the sports that he is involved with and strives to do his best in his sport of BMX. He loves the adrenalin the speed and the rush of his sport, he is the Central Region, North Island, Northland, Wellington Champion and is the 5 time National BMX Champion. He was also winner of the Mighty 11 Carnival in Casino Australia. At such a young age with a record like that the future looks bright for Tuhoto-Ariki.
